Use the research desk

Test a claim, challenge a view, assess a source, or build a brief. Examples, search, filters, and cited briefs work without an account.

The research collection

The first collection, When Controls Raise the Cost, compares five Chinese responses to U.S. advanced-compute restrictions. Its 21 evidence records draw on 35 sources, with evidence through 3 September 2026 and targeted corrections reviewed on 22 September.

The comparison separates capability, scale, resource demands, dependence, enforcement exposure, and further development. These are provisional qualitative judgments. The cases do not estimate the causal effect of export controls.

Optional Jev analysis

Jev can assess evidence against a claim, rank relevant records, and examine new sources. Its suggestions stay separate from published findings. The researcher reviews the sources and decides what follows.
